Canon compliant fics that cover this specific span of time are actually a bit more difficult to find than I had anticipated. The majority of the fics that I could find diverge from canon, some more than others. However, here’s what I am able to recommend based on your request.
Let me start with those I have already recced. For fics directly related to Episodes 18, 19, and 20 (including post-20), you can use the Episode-Based Tags on the Tags Index page. When I find fics that fit into elements that are present / events that take place in multiple episodes, I tag them as such. Based on my own quick search, here are a few that might fit what you’re looking for:
In terms of those I have not recced, there’s the Let’s Work Together, But Apart series by LoveMeThatsAllIAskOfYou. It consists of nine interconnected canon divergent one-shots that slightly re-imagine the events from 2×18 to 2×20 and could potentially fit your request. Need some help finding a fic, it’s an AU where Alec is an author who goes by Gideon Archer and Magnus is a designer. They meet in a coffee shop where Alec is rereading his first book to get inspired once more when he bumps into Magunus, literally. Gideon being Magnus’ favorite author they start talking and friendship develops from there, but Alec is torn because nobody but Jace and Izzy know he’s Gideon. I browsed quickly through the Fluff and Jace tags, but I would encourage you to go through them a bit more extensively to see if anything else fits.
With the time that I had, I wasn’t able to find many fics that I hadn’t already recced to fit your Jace request. However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. Some fics have more complex plots and it may be featured somewhere within them, but they’re difficult to find simply by searching for them.
