After two long years of intensive work, I will finally be done with my thesis and, by extension, my graduate degree in a few short weeks. Shortly thereafter, I’ll be off on a two-week-long, celebratory vacation. When I come back though, as a huge thank you for the support you all have given this blog, I’d like to try something a little different. 

For the last four months, I have been posting recommendations based on my own fic preferences. While I have received several asks for specific kinds of recs, there have not been many opportunities for my followers to decide what is posted here. 

Both as a thank you and as a way to branch out, I want to honor your fic rec requests for a full two weeks. In order to do that, I obviously need to hear your opinions. 

Here’s how it will work: 

• This Wednesday, May 3rd, I will post a link to the Fic Preference Poll. It will be open for the three weeks leading up to my thesis defense date and during that time it will be available to all who would like to participate. Whether or not you have a blog, whether or not you’re a follower, I would love to get your input on your Malec fic preferences. This is, quite literally, all about you. 

• The poll will close on Wednesday, May 24th at 9:00 P.M. EST. If everything goes well, I will have passed my thesis defense. Although I will be working on revisions, I should have a bit more free time to start finding and reading fics based on your preferences.

• I will post the results of the poll on Monday, May 29th (probably with charts and everything, because that’s the kind of nerd I am) so you know what to expect. I leave for vacation in the middle of June, but during that time I will continue finding, reading, and preparing recs for fics based on these results.

• The recs will start posting on Monday July, 3rd and will run through Sunday July 16th.

I’m hoping that this allows for more of an interactive experience on the blog and, if it goes well, I would love to do something like this again. I’m already in the planning stages for one such event at the beginning of August. Remember, this is about your preferences so please take the time to make them known.
