I’m so glad that you like the blog and thank you so, so much for your well wishes 🙂 but I actually won’t be going on hiatus during my internship, or at least I’m not planning to at this point. 

While I’ll be working the average amount of hours, I’ll still have some time to read and rec fics. However, I know my time will be much more limited, which is why I wanted to update all of the navigation pages today before I start. There may be hiccups in the posting schedule as I get settled into the position and once I get closer to the project’s deadline, but overall I’m hoping to continue running the blog as usual. So hopefully you’ll continue to enjoy the recs just as much as you have been! Thanks so much for your support!

I’ll be working on updating each of the navigation pages today, before I start my internship tomorrow. You shouldn’t have any issues accessing them, as I’m not planning on taking them offline while I work on them, but you should notice new additions by the end of the day. Exciting News!

So I’ve been sitting on this news for almost a month, waiting to share it until I knew everything was going to work out, and now I finally can.

As many of you know, I’m finishing up my master’s degree and will graduate from my university during the first week in August. In the meantime, I have been temporarily brought onto a project by a sizable local corporation where I will get to go through historical objects (dating back to the late 19th century!), do some research on them, and help put together an exhibit. 

This is a huge deal, as I’ll get to actually apply the research, writing, and public history skills that I have gained through my education the last two years. It’s also a paid internship, which is practically unheard of in this area of the country for this particular field. I won’t lie and say that I’m not nervous – I’m extremely nervous, as I’m about to enter into a whole new no-more-school, work-only chapter of my life – but all things considered, I’m also extremely excited about this opportunity.

In terms of this blog, I wanted to let you know that I’m not planning on going on hiatus. Although I am supposed to start my internship this week, I have fics recced up to this weekend, so there should not be any noticeable interruptions in the foreseeable future. However, there may be the occasional hiccup as I settle into the position so please be patient with me! I’m going to try my best to stay on top of everything, but this is a really important development in my personal career and that obviously needs to come first.
