“You are not Ragnor,” he says; there’s a miniscule part of his mind that’s quickly going over the most gruesome reasons why the Shadowhunter would be standing behind the counter instead of Ragnor – including murder, theft, or a combination of the two –, but the truth is that most of his hangover, foggy train of thought looks more like an endless sequence of the words hot and oh my god.
The Shadowhunter raises an eyebrow: “What gave me away?” he asks, perfectly deadpan, and Magnus might be in love.

Summary:
“No.” Alec says, period and all, as soon as he steps foot in the frat house. He doesn’t even need to stand on his tip-toes to take a good look at the whole party since he’s taller than most people there, so he simply leans forward to glance at the kitchen and immediately shakes his head: “Definitely not.”
He turns on his heels and manages to take all of zero steps before Izzy’s hand clamps down on his bicep, holding him there: “Don’t,” she says, clearly a warning, squinting up at him.
Alec groans and throws his head back in protest: “But people,” he says, gesturing at the truly staggering amount of people dancing and drinking and shouting in the main room.
“It’s a party,” Izzy says, rolling her eyes; she takes a step forward and drags Alec with her, “What did you expect?”
Alec glances over his shoulder at the room, where someone has apparently decided to strip down and start dancing on a table; he looks back at Izzy, eyebrows raised: “Civility?”

“I won’t tell,” Max is saying, and Alec is already halfway out of the bed when the child’s voice answers with a small: “Okay.”
There are a few moments of silence, interrupted by the raffling of sheets, and then: “I like the room.”
More silence, and: “It’s just too quiet.”
Alec glances at Magnus, worrying his lower lip between his teeth.
Max says: “You can stay with me,” sleep dragging his words a bit, “Dad and Papa say I’m never quiet.”
Magnus and Alec both snort.

Summary:
He presses his palm against his hipbone as he makes his way through the crowd, mindful of the torn skin that isn’t quite healed yet, and he pushes the door shoulder first, the cool air momentarily freezing against his skin after the suffocating warmth of the Hunter’s Moon. He’s walking slowly, placing one foot perfectly in front of the other, walking in that way he does, hips swaying slightly.
“Going home already?” he says, quickly, breathless, before his fear reaches his throat.
Magnus stops; his arms are bent, he’s probably playing with his rings. He turns and doesn’t quite look at Alec, faces the wall of the Hunter’s Moon instead: “Yes, I’d rather be there. I’m too tired to celebrate.”
He sounds wary, hesitant – like he doesn’t know where they stand either, and Alec takes a step forward, hope blossoming shyly in his chest: “You – you’re alright, right?”
Magnus turns fully towards him, his lips curled in a defeated smile: “Yes,” he murmurs softly, “I’m alright. I’m just tired.”

Summary:
“You look beautiful,” runs away from Alec’s lips, but he doesn’t quite regret it.
Magnus chuckles, lets his head fall on Alec’s shoulder for a moment: “I’m sure,” he says, a light flush working its way up his cheeks again.
“Good,” Alec says, ignoring the sarcasm. He lets his leg fall under Magnus’, sheets pleasantly cool against his skin, he pushes down on his feet and his arms and Magnus is breathless under him, one leg bent, his knee pressing against Alec’s hip. Alec says: “Because you do.”, his lips tender when he presses them against Magnus’, slowly, deeply.
