Returning to the Institute to check on the wards isn’t awkward in the slightest.
Nope. Not at all.
Also, Magnus absolutely cannot feel Lydia Branwell’s reserved eyes on him. And he’s not even remotely reluctant to run into Maryse Lightwood or her husband.
You face your fear: you allow yourself to be vulnerable. You have to be brave enough to put yourself in a situation in which everything could wrong. Because then, when it doesn’t, the reward will be that much more meaningful.
Alec has been Magnus Bane’s private driver for three years now. They have the perfect relationship; good-hearted, mutually supportive of each other, and frankly amicable. Maybe too amicable, in fact, considering they have been sleeping together for the better part of those three years.
However, when Alec receives a surprise offer for another job, that perfect relationship crumbles. It turns out that, without the anchors of a professional bond between them, Alec and Magnus are left to face something they had refused to think of before: their feelings.
Calling all Shadowhunters fic writers! I need your feedback for Author Appreciation Day 2.0!
Last year, this blog dedicated a single day to show the fandom’s appreciation for our amazing fic writers on National Author’s Day. Numerous readers and fic writers participated by leaving supportive and appreciative messages, which were then shared with the fandom on November 1, 2017.
I am definitely planning on making this an annual event, as I think it helps bring some positivity to the fandom and highlights a portion of our incredible artists who I feel often go underappreciated. This year, I want to do something a bit different and one of my ideas goes far beyond what I did last year. It would take a lot of planning, so I want to know if there’s interest in it first.
If you write any fanfiction for the Shadowhunters fandom – whether it be for Malec, Clace, Sizzy, Saia, Clizzy, Climon, Saphael, Jimon, BrOTPs, character-centric fics, family fics, or something else – please take part in the polls that are currently live on our Twitter account.
Question #1: Would you feel comfortable providing a mailing address to a private form so something small could be physically sent to you? The information would NEVER be made public. It would only be used for sending you something showing the fandom’s appreciation.
Question #2: Instead of something being physically sent to you, would you prefer that there was an option where the object showing the fandom’s appreciation could be sent as an attachment via email? Again, this address would NEVER be made public.
The polls close tomorrow morning so this is your last chance to participate! Thanks in advance for your feedback and for your contributions to the fandom!
“Daddy isn’t dead, Papa,” Rafael states, and Magnus’ stomach drops.
“Rafe…” Magnus trails off, unable to figure out what he could possibly say to fix this. He thought this was over. He doesn’t think he can deal with this.
He doesn’t think he can break his son’s heart again.

or the one where Alec dies, but Rafael knows he’s coming back home to him. Alec promised him.
He knew that he belonged in Magnus’ arms with as much certainty as he knew that he loved his siblings or that looking at the sun would blind him. And Magnus was his sun: warming him up from inside with the gentlest of touches on his hand, his arm; dazzling him with every smile he flashed him, burning and giving him life with every breath he took.
“So, Alexander,” Magnus said, fully enjoying the lack of etiquette in the way he addressed the Crown Prince, “What can I do for you tonight?”
“Well… I want… Can you…”
The prince stuttered and trailed off, staring at Magnus with wide, frightened eyes that, to the warlock’s utmost horror, filled with tears in a second. He didn’t have the time to ask what was wrong though, because the boy took a breath and then blurted out:
