The air is suddenly saturated with coloured powder, every colour of the spectrum mixing in the atmosphere, filling the sky with a sea of colour. And then the crowd erupts. It’s louder than it has been all day; people are jumping, shouting, kissing, hugging. The euphoria in the air is so thick it’s almost tangible.

The rainbow flag draped loosely around Alec’s shoulders feels weightless. It’s where it belongs, Alec supposes. He’s where he belongs.

Short Hiatus – NOT PERMANENT

As originally posted on the affiliated Twitter account.

I know I said that I’d try to keep the You Pick the Tag Event on schedule, but with how much I’ve been concentrated on the #PickUpShadowhunters campaign I was only able to read and rec one fic that fits your request from last week’s voting. I think it would be best to postpone the event for one week so I can ensure you actually get the amount of content you all deserve. So on that note, Week #1’s Arranged Marraige fic recs will be posted NEXT Friday instead. 

I want to keep my attention focused on contributing to the #SaveShadowhunters campaign, but I’m only human and can only do so much at once. I am going to put the blog on a short hiatus over the weekend; I will re-evaluate the situation on Sunday night and we’ll go from there.

This is NOT a permanent hiatus. Regardless of what happens with the show, the blog will remain functional. I just want to make sure that I’m doing everything that I can to help save it. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

I’ll be on hiatus here a little while longer. I’m really sorry, but I think the campaign to save the show is really important – not to mention incredibly significant for fandoms as a whole – and I want to do everything that I can to help.

I’ve been extremely active on the account’s affiliated Twitter account and will continue to be until we actually get a statement from networks and streaming services. I’ve been providing Analytic Updates throughout the day and have created a database to keep track of hourly tweet counts for each hashtag. I have also created a blog, NotOurLastHunt, to try to connect the campaigns on different platforms a bit more cohesively, so feel free to check that out as well! 

As you can probably understand, maintaining all of this has been extremely time-consuming. But I want to reiterate that this is NOT a permanent hiatus. I WILL be back to continue this blog – I have things lined up already – but I feel that it’s necessary to focus on the #SaveShadowhunters campaign at this time.

Anonymous asked: Can I ask you a question about the #saveshadowhunters Twitter map of the world that you posted on Twitter? How accurate are the total number of tweets from each country? I ask because my country shows up as having no tweets on the map, but I’ve been tweeting a lot. I also know I’m not shadowbanned.
