I would like to thank you for organizing this. Being a fic author can be challengeing – the work we do takes time and the only reward is satisfaction… But not only reward, is it? Because ultimately, while we write what we want to read, fanfiction writing goes both ways. The feedback, the comments, they power us, they make me push forward, they are the reason I keep writing. So I want to thank every reader, the silent and the loud ones – but also encourage those who rarely comment – do that! If you have something you like or not, talk to us! I love discussing things in comments. It’s the comments, after all, that make the fanfiction world go round. Let’s unite, readers and writers. Let’s talk!

Being able to read fics is probably one of the best things ever. You could be watching a TV show and something happens that you don’t really like, a few hours later, someone will have written a different version of that scene. Not only that, but you are allowed to read these works for free. The authors are taking the time of writing good stories and they are out there, 100% free of charge.

I love exploring how the characters we love would react in different situations, so I prefer writing (and reading) AUs. My favourite part of writing fic is of course bringing a bit of joy to readers and sharing a bit of what goes on in my mind. It’s lovely to know that people are interested in exploring the universes I create in my head together with me. I’m not really big on writing fics but Malec has inspired me so much that it’s honestly taken me by surprise.
Reading fic gives me an escape from real life as well as gives me more time with my favorite characters. I love being able to see them in new environments and different storylines. I know when I miss my characters the most I can always find them in fics. I would love to thank all of the amazing authors out there for taking the their time, energy, and creativeness in sharing their thoughts and words to the world. It’s incredibly hard work and takes some bravery. So thank you!!

Personally I mainly write to get the ideas out of my head, but if I see that other people have an appreciation for the works of fiction that I write, I find that it fuels me and inspires me to keep on doing it. And I recently collaborated with someone on a one-shot, and because that went so well I might consider collaborating with someone on a multi-chapter because I’d like to push my own boundaries as a writer and see how far I can take an idea without forcing it. I primarily write in the moment and that works better for me because I’ve tried planning fanfics before, and they mainly felt… I dunno, kinda forced. So I consider myself a spontaneous writer. And I’ve had nothing but positive feedback for it so I guess I’m doing something right. xD

I think the best part of writing my fics is when i get feed back saying that my fic has brightened that person’s day and made it better. Also being told that they love the fic that much that they read it over and over again. It makes all the hard work and late nights worth it and inspires me to keep writing.
Reading fanfics makes me so happy. I love reading about my otps falling in love in all kinds of ways, over and over again. Fanfics make me smile and they make me cry (mostly happy tears). When you read a good fanfic, that’s all that exists in that time. I forget all my worries and just enjoy reading about two people falling in love. Fanfics can give you that extra scene that the series doesn’t give you with canon couples which I am so thankful for. Fanfics can also give you non-canon couples falling in love which I am so thankful for as well. Cause lots of people ship non-canon couples as well and fanfics are an amazing way to still kinda get your scenes written. I am just really thankful for fanfic authors. You guys make this fandom even better, especially during the hiatus. But also with coda fics after episodes. I am just really happy with all the talented authors we have in this fandom, thank you for all your hard work!

I love to read fics about my favourite characters, shows or books, because I love to be able to go further in their universe. But I also love when the authors create a completely new world with those characters I adore. I want to thank the authors for (no doubt) the huge amount of time, talent and effort they put into it to give us amazing stories that make us dream, shiver or even completely melt.

My favorite thing about reading fics is that even when something bad happens to your favorite characters or ships, there is always someone out there who thinks of a way to change it to make it better, and I think that’s awesome!

Writing is my favourite thing to do. I’ve been properly writing for almost five years, and it’s become the thing I look forward to the most. Words have become a tool for me to express my thoughts and feelings in a way that I haven’t been able to find elsewhere. Sharing my writing means everything to me! Sharing fics that I’ve spent hours, weeks – sometimes even months on – is incredibly fun, and the idea that someone is reading and being entertained by something that I have put effort into, is both surreal and amazing to me. This fandom has given so much to me, I’ve found a second-home here, and I feel honoured to be able to give back in such an enjoyable way.
