“We’re horrible parents,” Magnus moaned as he lay flat on his belly on the living room floor’s fluffy rug in the middle of spread out brochures for various schools. “Our children are going to be uneducated because we didn’t do this when they were younger!”
Alec just rolled his eyes from the kitchen, just able to see Magnus from where he washed dishes. “One of them has only been our child for a year, Magnus. When he was younger he wasn’t ours yet.”
“Still! A whole year! He’s eight years old and he has never gone to school! We’ve educationally stunted our children!”
Or: Magnus and Alec finally have to make choices about their children’s education beyond what they have been teaching them.

Summary:
So this is based off the moment in 2×12 when we see that Magnus’ contact name for Alec is supposedly “A. Lightwood.” Obviously this was completely OOC as Magnus would never use such a totally basic and impersonal name for Alec…so I somehow decided to come up with a reason why he would use that name for him. This jumps off from that little moment but isn’t related to canon at all.
Everybody’s time is limited. Even immortals have limited time, because eventually, it will end, one way or another. Nothing is wrong with having limited time. It’s how life works. But you know what has no limits? How much love we can have. This family has more love than any family I’ve ever known. Our life together in the present is as close to perfect as life can ever be. The amount of love I have for you has no limits.
