Alec is not the best at forethought and planning on a good day, but trying to figure out how you celebrate a centuries old warlock’s birthday, especially when he pretends he doesn’t have one?
“Buying Magnus gifts was difficult, because no matter how hard Alec tried, nothing seemed good enough. How could he buy something worthy enough of the person who made him happier than anything else in the world?”
Making a birthday cake for the renowned chef Magnus Bane is a hard enough task – made harder still by the fact his girlfriend doesn’t seem to know Magnus’ likes or dislikes at all. Alec Lightwood, maker of some of the finest cakes in Brooklyn, is up to the challenge, even if he can’t take his eyes off the birthday boy. But as Alec and Magnus grow closer, could it be that the missing ingredient is true love?
The good news? After 74 hours, the blog has finally been imported to WordPress. The bad news? None of the formatting or tags went with their corresponding posts. I’ll be spending the weekend starting to put that back in order. I’ll share the URL sometime next week, once I get things a bit more organized and user-friendly. I’m honestly just glad that there’s a back-up now. I will happily deal with the rest. Stay tuned for more updates! I’ll provide them as soon as I can.
@veronicasummersfelton asked: Hi! I searched for your url but your blog didn’t appear in the search. I thought you deleted your blog. Did you turn off your search option or something? Because I love your blog & would hate to see you leave.
Thanks so much for letting me know about this! I double-checked and you’re right; the blog’s URL isn’t showing up in Tumblr searches (but it is showing up via Google and Bing). I have no idea why. I checked its visibility settings and it’s not marked as hidden or explicit, so it should come up. I have contacted @support and am waiting for an answer. I’ll share any information I get as it becomes available. Hopefully it’ll be taken care of relatively quickly. Thanks again!
UPDATE: Tumblr staff emailed me today and must’ve resolved this issue because the blog is now showing up in search results via the site (at least on my end). If you’re still having problems, please let me know as soon as possible so I can reach out to them again. Thank you!
Hey! You’re back on searches. I use the android app and your blog does appear in the search results, so yay! But, did the tumblr staff explain the issue? Can you explain it so that others can get help?
Nope, I got this lovely, generic email with absolutely no information in it whatsoever.
It was actually the exact same one that I received when I first submitted my support request, which you can see below.
I was really confused when I got the one yesterday since I hadn’t submitted another support request, but I decided to try searching for the blog’s URL in the event that something had changed and lo and behold it showed up. I didn’t change anything on my end, so it had to be something on theirs. I have no idea why it was hidden originally or what they did to reverse it.
In light of Tumblr’s announcement, I will be focusing on backing up the blog to an alternative source for the next few days. The site may not be affected, but as they’ve already hidden it from Tumblr searches for no apparent reason I’m not taking any chances. I’ll post a link to the back-up site as soon as I’m able to.
UPDATE: I’m currently backing up the blog in its entirety to WordPress. If I have to move the blog permanently, I’m not sure it would be a good long-term fit (I’ve actually been playing with Dreamwidth and think it would work better for that due to its large, built-in tagging system), but in the event that the blog suddenly gets deleted or posts get flagged for some reason everything will still exist there. I’ll share the link as soon as I have it. Thanks for your patience and understanding as I do my best to take precautions.
