Summary:

Alec was running through his options when he opened his eyes, trying to survey how much he had jotted down before he had drifted off to sleep. He sat up straight in his chair when he saw a full page of notes.

His own chicken scratch was at the top of the page in black pen, maybe one or two lines written down. The rest of the page was filled with purple ink and beautiful cursive writing depicting what Alec assumed to be the rest of the lecture.

Summary:

After the Lightwood siblings found out that they weren’t working for the good guys, they broke with the Clave. They’re on the run now in a stolen Firefly transporter, trying to make it to Earth, which has been deserted for centuries, to hide the Mortal Cup so it can’t be used against Downworlders. Between working jobs as smugglers and his relationship with his security officer, Alec isn’t exactly happy, but content.

Summary:

Alec loves his job. He’s been touring since he was sixteen. He’s stayed in dozens of countries over the years, learned enough of their languages to get a beer in his hand and a man in his bed. The road is as much his home as the townhouse on the Upper West Side. He’s as comfortable in cheap hotel rooms with scratchy linens and glaring lights as he is in his penthouse that overlooks Central Park with its silk sheets and the constant hum of the city that never sleeps.

Alec works hard and that hard work has paid off. He just finished his latest sold-out world tour and by all rights, he should be on top of the world. But the mental pressure of celebrity is getting to Alec and he doesn’t trust his footing. He’s stuck where most people would kill to be and he just wants to know what his next move should be.

Enter Magnus Bane. A history professor at Columbia University, Magnus is content with his friends, his classes, and the occasional warm body in his bed. But he’s been feeling stagnant, looking for the next chapter in his life to begin. If only he knew what Alec would bring his way.

Anonymous asked: Hi! thanks for answering. I was referring to that and more specifically in choosing the fics? Like, do you go into the tag, you read them, etc? Or how?

It really just depends. If I have an event that I’m preparing for (i.e., Halloween), I’ll search for fics on Archive of Our Own that match that theme.

It took some time to figure out how to use the search and filter features and sometimes I still have to play around with it, but they’re fantastic resources. 

When I’m just posting regularly, it just depends on what I want to read at any given time. I try to alternate between different genres (Human AU, Canon AU, Crossover, etc.), but otherwise anything goes.

I’ll look through recently-posted fics, read fics by authors that I subscribe to when their alerts come via email, and search for tags depending on what I want to read. People are also welcome to send in recommendations, although that doesn’t necessarily mean that the fics will be featured or that they will be featured in a timely fashion. (For example, it’s November 10th and I’m creating recs for November 28th right now, so anything new that is posted or recommended will take some time to show up on the blog).
