Magnus releases another energy blast that narrowly misses Alec’s head. Magnus jerks his hand back and stares at Alec, his eyes wild and fearful — almost vulnerable. Alec hates that look. He hates that the High Warlock of Brooklyn is looking at him like a lifeline.
“No,” Alec exhales. “Fuck no.”
Magnus holds his hands up in surrender and takes a step towards Alec. “It’ll be okay. Let’s talk about this.”
Alec backs away until he feels the hard press of the wall against his back. He fumbles around for the doorknob and swings the door open.
“Wait, please!” Magnus calls.
Alec slams the door on his way out.
